Minmahaw Education Foundation (MEF) is a non-profit, education organization. It was opened in January 2007 on the Thai-Burma border, to educate Burmese youth with disadvantaged backgrounds. With current trends in the Burmese educational standard, and little access to education for the country’s ethnic minorities, border migrant community and youth from political backgrounds, further education is limited and in some cases simply unattainable.

MEF aims to provide higher level education, in order to prepare students to take a high school equivalency exam so they can gain entry to university. The program not only provides education, but also a safe location for the students to study and, as well as food, clothing and basic medical care.
