Volunteer

MEF has been fortunate enough to have volunteer teachers from different parts of the world. However, the time volunteers have been able to give, has been on a short term basis. We appreciate any time volunteers can give however, there is a need for teachers who are able to work at the school long term.
We prefer volunteers who can commit to six months or longer, as it is more beneficial for the students if they have regular teachers and there isn’t too much disruption to their classes. However, if you can only commit to a short time, still please feel free to contact us if you are interested so we can discuss our situation and come to an arrangement.

MEF also would like teachers with teaching experience, in order to start teaching immediately and with minimum guidance. Due to the nature of the course, no training is provided so volunteers need to be prepared, willing and self-motivated to take up a teaching position. The program has a flexible curriculum and adequate teaching resources and aids. Please send your CV and details of the time you are wishing to volunteer for.
If you would like to volunteer but not in a teaching capacity, your help is still valued. We are in constant need of help in the office and administrative areas. So please contact us to check what are needs are at the time when you are ready to volunteer.
MEF is unable to offer any financial support or accommodation, but you can live in Mae Sot on a fairly small budget.
